British Society of Gastroenterology

The British Society of Gastroenterology is an organisation focused on the promotion of gastroenterology within the United Kingdom. It has over 3000 members drawn from the ranks of physicians, surgeons, pathologists, radiologists, scientists, nurses, dieticians, and others interested in the field. Founded in 1937 it has grown from a club to be a major force in British medicine, with representation within the British Royal Colleges and consequently the Department of Health and Government. Internationally it is represented at World and European level. The BSG is a registered charity.

American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD)

American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD) is the leading organisation of scientists and health care professionals committed to preventing and curing liver disease. AASLD was founded in 1950 by a small group of leading liver specialists (including Hans Popper, Leon Schiff, Fred Hoffbauer, Cecil Watson, Jesse Bollman, and Sheila Sherlock, to name a few) to bring together those who had contributed to the field of hepatology.
