Dr Karen Waller

Dr Karen Waller is a Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist focused on providing patient centred care. She investigates and manages the range of Gastroenterological conditions including iron deficiency, reflux, irritable bowel syndrome and coeliac disease, but has a special interest in liver diseases such as hepatitis and all forms of chronic liver disease. She is a member of the Gastroenterological Society of Australia and accredited provider of Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy.

Dr Waller is a graduate of the University of Sydney’s combined medical degree program. She completed her PhD in 2022, supported by an NHMRC Postgraduate Research Scholarship. She won numerous national and international awards for her work investigating infectious diseases in solid organ donation and transplantation, with a focus on blood-borne viruses. She continues to be active in research and enjoys teaching students at all stages.
