Prof. Brian Jones

Professor Brian Jones graduated from St Mary’s Hospital London, and completed his gastroenterology training in the UK. He was awarded a Doctorate of Medicine by thesis for research in liver pharmacology from the University of Melbourne. Prof. Jones pursued further studies at McMaster University, Canada, and the Liver Diseases Section, National Institutes of Health, USA.
Prof. Jones has published over one hundred scientific papers and chapters in peer reviewed journals and textbooks. He is a Clinical Associate Professor at the Sydney Adventist Hospital Clinical School of the University of Sydney. He is a previous recipient of the Gastroenterological Society of Australia’s Young Investigator Award, and the inaugural Distinguished Clinician Award.
Prof. Jones maintains membership of the Gastroenterological Society of Australia, American Gastroenterological Association, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American College of Gastroenterology, American Association for the Study of Liver Disease and the British Society of Gastroenterology.
Prof. Jones has been an Admitting Medical Officer at the Sydney Adventist Hospital for over three decades. He has recently retired from clinical practice and retains an Honorary Medical Officer appointment at the hospital.
